A devised piece which took an intimate look at confession in its many differing forms. The show was created through a series of devising sessions which began with each actor sharing a photograph that had a specific, personal anecdote attached to it. Before each actor divulged the story behind their photo, the other actors created narratives based on what they gleaned from the image. The relationship between these fictionalizations and the true history of these pictures created the foundation for the piece that was collaboratively built. The choice to stage the performance in a residential attic with a weight limit that mandated only 15 audience members per performance was made to emulate the experience of being inside of a confessional booth. As the audience ascended into the attic, they handed an actor a piece of paper with a confession of their own written on it, a symbolic contract that what would happen within this intimate space was sacred and confidential. Given the nature of this contract, no videos or images of this performance exist.
